Team Training
Every quarter, the NCB has a new theme. We kick off the theme at our Team Training days, where the team arrives totally unaware of what the next three months will hold for them. Its a great way to start the quarter and having a theme keeps everyone on track with clear goals on their mind.

July 2010 – The Pipeline – Master the pipeline!
After our best quarter yet, where records were smashed as we turned up the heat here at the NCB, the team was back on the 2nd July, ready to rock our next theme. This quarter the theme of ‘Mastering the Pipeline’ was introduced. The idea behind this being a focus on refining our own pipeline of friends and business activities, so that not only are we reaching our goals at record speeds, but doing so at the highest quality – 5 star! Like our surfing idols, we plan to catch the best waves and make it to the beach in true style.
With this theme in mind, some of our key outcomes included:
- Making the best quality friends who will benefit most from our courses
- Closing the gap between friends made and friends starting at the college
- Refining our RTO compliance
In the afternoon, the NCB team tested out the theme in a surprise activity of surfing, winter style – on a mechanical surfboard! After a few test runs by everyone, Nic proved to be the stand out champ, lasting 48 seconds on the deck. A real Stephanie Gilmore in the making!!

April 2010 - 212' - Going the extra degree!
Finishing our last quarter off with a nice 4 day break, the NCB was back on the 6th April, ready to reach even higher this quarter! Our theme that was introduced was 212 degrees. Why? Water boils at 212 degrees Farenheit. So at 211', water is very hot, but at 212' its boiling! This is where the idea behind our quarter occured. If we were to push ourselves and do just that extra 1% or 1' in everything that we do, it would make a big difference overall.
Working around this theme some of our key outcomes included:
- 212 Friends for the quarter
- 212 Random Acts of Kindness
- 212 Referrals
As one of the NCB's random acts of kindness, we also decided to donate $1 for every person that attends a course at any College for the entire quarter! The charity of choice was Compassion, a charity that supports children throughout the world, and helps them build better lives for themselves.
In the afternoon, the NCB Team had a surprise Team Activity - Go Karting! Jon and Danyelle took the entire team to Le Mans Go Karting Track where we spent the afternoon pushing ourselves just that one extra degree to be the winner!
Unfortunately there was only one winner... Congratulations to Catch who had the fastest time of the day. He even had the bottle of champagne to celebrate with!

January 2010 - R & R - Referrals and Renewels!
After a refreshing break, the NCB came back roaring and ready to go on the 8th January for our Team Training day. The theme for this quarter was all about getting Referrals and Renewals, R & R. Hence, the pirate theme - ARRRR! Once everyone had their moustache, eye patch, pirate hat and sword, we got stuck into setting out our plan for the start of 2010.
Some of our key outcomes were:
- Our new Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) - 20 000 friends by 2020. WOW!
- Efficiency - being intentional with our time, helping others be intentional with their time, and having a lunch break during the day to set ourselves up for the afternoon.
- The introduction of a NCB Share System where every team player now has shares in the company and can add to them throughout the year.
- Set out the NCB quarterly goals and yearly goals.
- Each team player assessed where they wanted to be by December 17th 2010 and set goals and who they were going to be to have these goals achieved.
The most amazing thing about this team training day is that the NCB now has a strategic plan in place to reach our BHAG!
October 2009 - Party - Lets Get This Party Started!
This was our last theme for 2009. We wanted people to feel as if there were excited to come to the college as if it was the party of the year! If we were having fun and showed everyone that, then everyone that came in contact with the NCB would have fun too. We even had our own little tag line: Are you ready to party? YYYYEEEEEPPPPP!
In the afternoon, Jon and Danyelle surprised everyone with bowling at Strike in Surfers Paradise. 
What a team building event, with definitely a few star players!!!!
July 2009 - Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, Healthy Business - Work Smarter Not Harder
This quarter involved setting goals for ourselves in our personal lives and the business to say fit and keep healthy so we were working smarter and not harder! During the quarter, we had an afternoon on Personal Success and all set our own goals. We even had a health doctor who kept an eye on whether we were eating frequenly and were exercising enough!

pril 2009 - Commando - Back to Basics, Keep It Simple
This quarter was all about KISS...we even had a KISS event for those of you who remember! At the Team Training day, the team got dressed up in cammo shirts and wore camouflage face paint, everyone with their own personal dog tag. Very cool! It was all about going back to the basics, as that's what works!
During the quarter, we were lucky enough to have David and Miranda from David King's Taekwondo Academy come and give us a few tips on Self Defence..

January 2009 - Formula 1 - Focus on Efficiency
During this quarter, the NCB Team focus on being as efficient as possible. Just like in Formula 1 we wanted the best lap time, with out cutting corners!
October 2008 - Disneyland - WOWing our Clients
This quarter it was all about the WOW factor. We wanted everyone to feel as WOWed as they would be as if they were at Disneyland and to have FUN!!!!
