Thu, 8 Sep 11
Yesterday, we sat in on a webinar with Deloitte Digital's @lukemccormack who gave us some great value through his tips on using Twitter in business. Check out what we believe were the Top 5 tips presented and start getting serious about using Twitter as a communication and marketing tool in your business.
- The 4 reasons to Tweet
- SHARE relevant information to add value for your followers
- LISTEN to what your clients
- RESPOND quickly to what is being said relevant to you
- ASK for opinions and feedback - Use your authentic voice (or the voice of the brand)
Communicate in the same language that is used for all other communication channels. Your voice and language should be the same on Twitter as it is for your website, your team, your phone message, promotions, etc - Tweet ambient content
Most businesses just don’t know what to tweet about, but all you need is ambient content. Although everyday actions and content may not seem fascinating to you or your team, it does interest your followers! What do you do on a day to day basis that your followers don't do, don't know about, or would be interested in keeping track of? - Why would someone follow you?
If you’re still unsure whether what you are posting is interesting to your followers, think: "Why would someone be following me?" and answer that question through your posts. - Promote your Twitter handle (eg ours is @NCBusiness) at every opportunity. This includes at events, in advertising, in your email signature, through your website & other online platforms, etc.
These are the tip of the Twitter iceberg!
