Wed, 6 Apr 11
Easter is the perfect time to get away from it all and enjoy a relaxing holiday with the family. Check out some of these great ideas for holiday destinations in our backyard that are perfect for a 5-day weekend away.
CAMPING/BUDGET HOLIDAYS
Boreen Point, Queensland Lake Cootharaba is a super-shallow five kilometre-long stretch of water that's perfect for both kids and parents. Children can safely play in the shallow waters, with a fun family activity including hiring a catamaran. Camp on the edge of the lake and you'll wake to spectacular views - you might even get to see kangaroos hopping through the campsite or tame possums coming to feed at night. If your kids are older, pack up `a canoe and paddle up the Noosa River to the everglades where you can book private riverfront campsites populated by sugar gliders and goannas.
Beechmont, Binna Burra, Queensland If you don't have your own camping gear, or just don't want to pack up tents and sleeping bags for a weekend away, then book a pre-pitched canvas tent with double beds and bunks (raised off the floor) at Binna Burra. There are on-site barbecues, a cafe and a rainforest right next door. Take your kids walking through Lamington National Park and see if they can spot echidnas, quolls, koalas, possums, and wallabies. Kids aged eight and upwards will also have fun riding on the 160m-long flying fox in beautiful Bellbird Clearing - get your camera ready as they zip through the treetops.
ECO-HOLIDAYS
Kingfisher Bay Resort in QLD sits amongst sand dunes and rainforests and is one of Australia’s greenest resorts. Kids will also love making damper and more with the Junior Eco Rangers club.
RESORT HOLIDAYS
With the Great Barrier Reef next door and a fabulous Kids' club, it doesn’t get much better than Dunk Island.

PS. If you have a team working for you, but don’t feel you can leave them in charge of the business for 5 days while you take a break then we urge you to check out the government funded opportunities available for training up your team!
