NCB offers number crunching support
Fri, 26 Feb 10
Due to popular demand from business owners, the National College of Business has launched a new accounting arm.
NCB has appointed Tara Geeves as its “number cruncher” who brings with her solid experience in the field of financial management.
From now on, as a standard feature of NCB’s business courses, Tara will conduct on-site visits, during which she will calculate “projections” to help businesses accurately forecast profits at certain targets.
Tara said these projections would act like a crystal ball for the year ahead and would enable business owners to better steer the financial course of their business to achieve success.
“Profit and Loss Projections provide a 12-month roadmap of sales and expenses,” Tara said.
“They take into account overheads, cost of goods sold and the number of sales required to produce the desired profit.
“They provide a great tool to evaluate ‘what if’ scenarios, for example, the net profits that could be expected by hiring a sales representative.”
Tara said projections were particularly powerful during turning points for businesses.
“They can help you to make important business decisions such as major new purchases, new product lines or a change of premises,” she said.
“Projections are like opening a window & letting in light on your business.”
Businesses wishing to take advantage of this service need to complete and hand in to their Mastery Coach a Profit and Loss Projection Request Form. This form is in the welcome pack you will receive when you start the program. The accounting arm will then make direct contact to arrange a meeting. You will need to allocate about 1-1.5 hours to complete the projection.
Projections are part of the Business Mastery program, however, if you are not currently enrolled, but would like access to this service, please call Tara Geeves on (07) 3831 3732.
